The evolving nature of scholarly communication demands academic librarians to take up a bolder role in supporting research rather than merely remaining behind a desk providing access to materials. The emergence of open access, the privilege of access to infinite resources packaged in the form of bits and bytes, has presented a golden opportunity for academic libraries and librarians to revitalize their roles fundamentally. This sharing session intends to address the challenges faced by librarians, researchers and institutions to keep up with the transforming scholarly landscape, ultimately establishing redefined roles of academic libraries and librarians in forwarding research excellence by solving those challenges.
