Summary
This study strengthens the oxide-encapsulation strategy by moving from silica spheres to a silica/alumina monolith. The dual-oxide matrix improves protection while preserving the brightness and color purity of CsPbBr3 perovskite quantum dots. A key technical insight is that surface ligand management matters: DDAB ligand exchange helps prevent damage and aggregation during the sol-gel process, allowing the monolith to remain transparent and highly luminescent. The material can be mixed into resin and used as a color-converting layer on blue LEDs. This paper shows that perovskite quantum dots can be stabilized in a more robust inorganic environment while remaining useful for display and lighting applications.
