Summary

This patent developed an SCM-198 gel formulation for the treatment of skin injuries, with Leonurine (SCM-198) as the active ingredient. The gel is composed of SCM-198 powder, Carbomer 940 gel base, pH regulators, solubilizers, preservatives, moisturizers, and deionized water in specific proportions. It is prepared through a process involving magnetic stirring, water-bath heating, and stepwise mixing.

Animal studies demonstrated that this gel effectively promotes burn wound healing, reduces inflammation, accelerates skin repair, and exhibits functions such as scar inhibition and hair regrowth promotion.

Compared to commercially available bFGF (basic fibroblast growth factor) gel, SCM-198 gel showed comparable healing effects while offering additional benefits in anti-inflammatory activity and tissue regeneration. This formulation presents a novel topical treatment strategy for chronic skin wounds and burns.
